Goodness gracious,  Have not been by here in months.  Guess I have not been painting very much.
My time has been spent doing every thing except painting.

That's changing.  Must get ready for a show the first Friday in April.

Working on smaller items for this show.  Trying some landscapes and golf scenes.

Finally finished the mural for my friend.  Well, I call myself finishing it.  I could probably work on it forever. Who knew painting a mural could be so much fun?

It became a puzzle to be solved as I worked on it.  Some areas are solved very nicely while some areas could use more work.  I just had to throw in the towel for now.  Maybe I can go back in a few months and work on some of the problem areas.

Next project?  Not certain about that but I am sure something will come up.

Another busy week. Lots of great weather so that means lots of golf.  But I need to get back to painting. Here is the mural that I have been doing for a dear friend.  It has been so much fun working on it.  It has been like a puzzle. I started out with a sketch but when I put it on the wall, the mural took a life of its own.  I still have to add more detail but it is looking good.

It started as a Piedmont countryside but it quickly morphed to a mountain scene.  Couldn't help but add more mountains in the distance, a Christmas tree farm and off course there is a cabbage patch.

It is beginning to take shape at this point.

More detail has been added.

Seems like Murals are where I am right now.  Maybe they are my calling?  I do know I enjoy painting them and I am learning a lot as I go.

This is a mural that I created on the fly. We needed a sign or image to point the kids upstairs to their Sunday School classes.  I came up with this one night and painted it the next day.  It was getting to crunch time and that is when the best stuff seems to come out.

He is pointing upstairs with his gloved hand and holding the sign with his other outstretched hand.  His feet got hidden by that darned chair rail that goes all over the building.

Can't believe I have not been here in well over 2 years.  Guess it is time to get caught up.

I have been painting a lot lately and I will do my best to get some images posted as soon as I figure out how.

This is the apple tree I painted as part of the murals for Thyatira.
I had a lot of help with the background.  The tree was a challenge as I had to get on a ladder. And the apples had to painted about 5 times to get them to look right.

More images to come.

This is another study of Sunflowers.

This one is in oil and on 10x24 canvas. Nice, sunny, happy vertical piece.

Let's get ready for Christmas!

This piece looks great above a doorway.

It is done in oil and is not framed. Image size is 8x 24----

More things for the show------This is a16x20 oil done with knife so it is very textured.

Sort of a whimsical piece very much like the mural I did.

October 31, 2008---Still working on the show for the Cotton Company.
I still have several pieces to finish and take to the framer.

I have put together a rather eclectic mix. Somethings are good, some are just OK.

Murals-----

These are some murals I did back in September.

The Flamingo image is on a white bathroom wall. The image size is roughly 3feet wide and 4.5 feet tall.

The Ponies by the Lighthouse Image was done on a green playroom wall. The image size is about 6 feet wide by 4 feet tall.

Both were done with acrylics.

Amos

This is a small watercolor that I did of a friend's German Shepard.

Deborah's Sunflowers

This was a watercolor of Deborah's sunflowers. She had picked some to have on the porch. Of course we decided to paint them.
