M.M. Steele
Mary Margaret Steele was born with a symbiotic relationship with nature and a passion for art. She could draw before she would walk and when she could walk, she spent as much time outside as she could. She loved to roam the fields and woods where she picked and studied every weed, flower, leaf, rock, arrowhead, bird, bug and snake. Later she, her horse and her dog followed the same paths and explored new ones. It was no surprise to her family that she studied art and later graduated with a degree in Biology from Meredith College.
She is and has always been at her best with a paint brush or pencil in her hand as she projects the world that she loves onto paper and canvas.
She has extended her art education through workshops, night classes, seminars and private lessons. Outdoor activities included fishing and hunting for many years but that energy is now channeled into golf and painting.
Mary Margaret is a member of the Wake Forest Area Artists’ Association and has had various shows over the years in the Wake Forest area as well as other areas in the state. Her works have been juried into various shows over the years.
